Cleveland Guardians vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/24/26

The Phillies finally snapped their three-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. Now, Philadelphia looks to salvage a series win as they hand the ball over to Andrew Painter who enters with a 1-4 record and a 5.77 ERA this season. For the Guardians, they’ll hand the ball to Parker Messick who has been fantastic this season, posting a 5-1 record and a 2.45 ERA through 10 starts. 

If the Phillies want to win this game, they’ll need to find a way to generate offense early against Messick. The Guardians bullpen has been one of the more reliable teams in baseball, holding a 3.71 ERA this season, so runs are going to be tough to come by. Painter is still looking to find his footing on the mound this season, and it’s not going to get any easier against a Guardians team that is averaging 4.6 runs per game over their last ten matchups. The Guardians hold a significant advantage in this game with Messick on the mound and I expect Cleveland to do enough offensively to secure a series win.
