Winless on their home floor this season, the Brooklyn Nets will try to win their first game at Barclays Center when they welcome the Charlotte Hornets. They are currently on a 4-game losing streak, with their last loss coming against the Milwaukee Bucks this past Saturday via a 116-99 decision. With both teams struggling to start the season, my initial thought was that this was a great spot for the Nets to pick up their first win on their home court. But they are running into a Charlotte squad that is starting to get healthy again and is trying to string together a third straight win. LaMelo Ball continues to work his way back after returning from an ankle injury. He should be fresh after only playing 22 minutes in the Hornets’ last game. Brandon Miller has also returned from injury for Charlotte and has averaged 22 points per game in his last 3 contests. These 2 will be paired with Bridges and an emerging scorer Kon Knueppel. There is not as much positivity on the Nets’ side to get behind. Cam Thomas continues to miss time with injury and the Nets’ first-round pick from last year’s draft, Egor Demin, has continued to struggle to find his place on this team. Denim is only averaging 8.5 points per game on 38% shooting. The Hornets have much more talent than the Nets, and 3straight wins for this team after starting the season 4-14 would be huge for its confidence moving forward.
