Sunday MLB three-team mega parlay (+1092): Phillies, Mets battle for first

Today’s 15-game slate in Major League Baseball is headlined by the Sunday night game of the week on ESPN between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. We also have Houston going up against Tampa Bay, the Dodgers squaring off with Milwaukee, and San Francisco paying a visit to San Diego. The betting options are just about limitless, so let’s take a look at our best team-team parlay for Sunday’s action on the diamond.

Twins -1.5 (+105)

Athletics -1.5 (+105)

Phillies -1.5 (+180)

Parlay odds: +1092

For this parlay we are going with three favorites on the run line. Here is a breakdown of the three legs one by one.

Minnesota Twins -1.5 over Kansas City Royals (+105)

Kansas City started the season with one of the best records in baseball but beat up on some of the weaker teams in the league. Although the Royals have been hitting well, they have struggled on the road—ranking second-to-last in team batting average on the road at just .198. They send Brad Keller to the mound and he is coming off his best outing of the year, but that is not saying a lot. Keller is still saddled with a 9.00 ERA. He has only made it through the sixth inning once so far and that was against the Tigers, who have been struggling. The Twins have been a disappointment as they enter this contest with a 9-16 record. Luckily for them, they have one of their best pitchers on the mound for game three of this series. Jose Berrios currently owns the best ERA, ERA+, and FIP of his career.

Nelson Cruz Twins

Oakland Athletics -1.5 over Baltimore Orioles (+105)

The Orioles have been a thorn in the side of Oakland this season. Baltimore ended the Athletics’ long winning streak last week and now it has taken the first two games of this series. However, the O’s have not swept a series since the opening one against Boston. Lefty John Means won the series opener on Friday and has been good this season. Beyond him, though, Baltimore’s staff is a question mark. And its offense is not good enough to make up for poor pitching. Left-hander Bruce Zimmerman has lost his last three starts and is often not even giving the Orioles 5.0 innings. Meanwhile, Oakland’s Sean Manaea has been excellent since his first outing of the year. He is pitching like an ace and that is exactly what the A’s need to close out this series with a much-needed win—and a convincing one, too.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over New York Mets (+180)

The National League East was supposed to be the best division in baseball this season. So far it is by far the worst. Despite being under .500, the Phillies and Mets (and the Nationals, for that matter) are tied atop the standings. One will take a one-game lead over the other following the conclusion of Sunday Night Baseball. You have to like the Phillies’ chances at home. They are 9-5 in their own friendly confines compared to 4-9 on the road. Similarly, the Mets are 4-7 on the road compared to 6-4 in New York. Right-hander Zach Eflin is taking the mound of Philly with a 3.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. In three home starts he is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA. Thus the Phillies have a distinct pitching advantage over the Mets, who are sending David Peterson to the mound. Peterson is 1-3 with a 5.59 ERA
