Illinois bettors last day for mobile sign up Saturday, April 3

Illinois bettors last day for mobile sign up Saturday, April 3

A major blow for Illinois bettors was announced last night.

The executive order signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that allowed mobile sign-ups will expire at midnight on Saturday, April 3.

What does this mean?

Illinois sports bettors must sign-up in person from Sunday, April 4. However, if you have previously signed up and placed a wager, you can continue to wager without having to go to a retail sportsbook.

What should I do?

If you’re a sports bettor in Illinois, you should open as many sportsbook accounts as possible and place a wager on Saturday’s action. Illinois law is going to require in-person registration until 2022 as it stands.

This means you need to get as many outs as possible before the executive order expires just hours after the NCAA College Basketball Final 4 games, or you’ll have to travel across the state to register.
