Jon Rothstein's 2021 March Madness Second Round Day Two Picks and Predictions
The second round of the NCAA Tournament and March Madness continues, and we have another great eight games to get excited for on Monday. As well as my picks for what will happen in every single game, make sure you check out all of the other experts’ picks in the Pickswise $10,000 Capper Contest, as well as their team’s thoughts on the side and total for all of today’s matchups.
Oregon Ducks vs. Iowa Hawkeyes
This could wind up being the best game in the Round of 32. Both teams play with great pace and have capable shotmakers. If Oregon’s length and athleticism distorts Iowa’s offensive rhythm, the Ducks could be in business.
PICK: Oregon +4.5

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs
The West Region should be renamed “The Gonzaga Invitational”. Oklahoma feels like the next victim. I’ll be surprised if the Sooners can stay in this game for 40 minutes.
PICK: Gonzaga -14.5

Abilene Christian Wildcats vs. UCLA Bruins
Abilene Christian goes after loose balls like a flock of seagulls going after a ham sandwich on a beach. If the Bruins aren’t poised against pressure, things could get ugly quickly. Tyger Campbell is an x-factor for UCLA.
PICK: UCLA -5

Ohio Bobcats vs. Creighton Bluejays
How will Ohio respond after its emotional victory over Virginia? The Bobcats can’t be resting on their laurels if they want to make the Sweet 16. Keep an eye on a terrific point guard matchup between Marcus Zegarowski and Jason Preston.
PICK: Creighton -5

LSU Tigers vs. Michigan Wolverines
Michigan is the most vulnerable of the number one seeds. LSU has three elite players in Javonte Smart, Cam Thomas, and Trendon Watford. Expect this one to come down to the final possession.
PICK: LSU +5

Colorado Buffaloes vs. Florida State Seminoles
The Pac-12 is proving that it was an underrated conference. Colorado is proving that it’s an underrated team. If Florida State isn’t sharp — and it hasn’t been sharp in weeks — the Buffaloes will advance to the second weekend.
PICK: Colorado +1

Maryland Terrapins vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
Maryland wasn’t supposed to be here. Alabama was. The faster the pace of this game, the greater the chance that the Crimson Tide win by double figures.
PICK: Alabama -6

USC Trojans vs. Kansas Jayhawks
USC’s interior defense with Evan and Isaiah Mobley is absolutely lethal and could neutralize David McCormack in the middle. Kansas is going to have to have a good shooting day to get by the underrated Trojans.
PICK: USC -1.5
