Cardinals vs Buccaneers Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
TB Buccaneers -3.5(-110)

Baker Mayfield is expected to be good to go when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers entertain the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13 of the NFL season on Sunday afternoon. Mayfield suffered a sprained shoulder (non-throwing) this past weekend and is listed as questionable, but his recent return to practice has him trending in the right direction. As a result, my Cardinals vs Bucs pick is for the home team to win and cover.

It is true that Tampa Bay has struggled of late, but a date with Arizona should be just what the doctor ordered. The Cardinals have been absolutely horrendous for more than 2 months now. Since starting the year 2-0, they are 1-8 in their last 9 outings. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has actually been decent while filling in for Kyler Murray, but there is no semblance of a running game and the defense is awful. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has been dealing with appendicitis and is questionable for Sunday. Unlike the case with Mayfield, Harrison’s status is in serious doubt. I would tread lightly given that neither team is anything close to reliable and both are dealing with injury issues, but a slight lean goes to Tampa Bay.

Game Totals Pick
Over 44.5(-110)

This pick, too, is obviously dependent on Mayfield taking the field. Assuming he does, my Cardinals vs Bucs pick is Over 44.5. Tampa Bay is also finally welcoming back RB Bucky Irving. Aside from Mike Evans’ continued absence, the Bucs’ offense is close to being fully loaded (aside from the fact that Mayfield surely won’t be 100 percent). Only 3 times in 11 games this season have the Bucs been held to fewer than 23 points. With Irving back, the home side should once again put up some decent numbers against a reeling Arizona defense. The Cardinals have allowed 44, 41 and 27 points over the past 3 weeks.

Fortunately for the visitors, Brissett has been balling. The 32-year-old boasts an 11-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio so far in 2025 and has passed for at least 258 yards in all 6 of his starts. That includes performances of 317, 320 and 452 yards. He now faces a Tampa Bay defense that ranks #27 against the pass (243.5 yards per game allowed) and #29 in yards per pass attempt allowed (7.6). These 2 teams are #26 (Tampa Bay) and #25 (Arizona) in scoring defense. Let’s go with the over.
