Show Bio

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. I was able to hit 2 of the 3 player props last night with DeMar DeRozan coming just 1 assist short of making it a perfect night. I am hoping we can achieve that on tonight’s 6-game slate. The featured games will be shown on TNT, starting with the Atlanta Hawks takin a trip to take on the surging New Orleans Pelicans. That will be followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves battling the Western Conference leader, the Denver Nuggets. Be sure to read our NBA predictions for each of tonight’s games, but for now, let’s dive into my best NBA player prop picks.

Deandre Ayton over 28.5 points and rebounds (-108)

This is one of my favourite props that I have come across in a while. Ivica Zubac made it 6 starting centers in a row that have exceeded their combined points and rebounds season average against Nic Claxton last night. It will now be the turn of Deandre Ayton. The Suns center is averaging 21.9 points and 12.9 rebounds over his last 7 games. He was also able to put together a 24-point and 14-rebound performance against the Nets earlier this season too. He should be too big and too strong for Claxton in the paint. Look for him to be able to score in the low post at will. With Claxton not having the ability to space the floor, he should find himself in terrific rebounding position too. Back this one with confidence.

Clint Capela over 10.5 rebounds (-108)

Clint Capela has been in fine rebounding form. He has managed to record 11 or more boards in 5 of his last 7 games. The Hawks center came just 1 shy on both other occasions. He should be able to keep that going against a New Orleans Pelicans team that he managed a 19-rebound performance earlier in the season. Capela will spend time up against Jonas Valanciunas tonight. The Lithuanian has been operating in the paint lately, having not attempted a 3-pointer in any of his last 5 games. Allowing Capela to stay around the rim should help him pad this rebounding numbers once more. With the Pelicans just 21st in true shooting percentage over the last 10 games, there should be plenty of misses for him to chase.

Jaren Jackson Jr over 3.5 blocks (+140)

The league leader in blocks per game should be set to put on another defensive clinic tonight. Jaren Jackson Jr. is averaging 3.3 blocks per game this season. However, that number jumps to 4.3 when he is playing at home. He has been able to hit the over on this line in 7 of his last 8 homes games overall. The Chicago Bulls are a team that like to attack the paint too. Over the last 10 games, they are 9th in points in the paint. On the season, they are also 20th in opponent blocks per game. It’s a combination that should play into Jackson Jr’s hands. Look for him to continue with his blocking streak here.
