Regardless of what you have going on this fine Saturday, hockey will be waiting for you once the obligations are out of the way. With the calendar now hitting March, we are a week away from the trade deadline and just over a month from the end of the regular season. NHL Parlay Picks (3/1)

Hurricanes ML (-148)

Oilers vs Kraken Over 6.5 (-105)

Stars -1.5 and Under 6.5 (+220)

NHL parlay odds: +946

Hurricanes ML (-148)

Between a couple of teams that have been in good form lately, the Hurricanes look a bit better than the Jets. For the past month and a half, the Hurricanes have been more consistently successful as they are clicking at the right time. The Jets have enjoyed a productive last couple of weeks, but they have done so at the expense of weaker teams.

The Hurricanes are 6-1-1 in their last 8 games and have won 4 out of their last 5 games at home. The Jets played against the Stars on Thursday which was their first opponent currently in a playoff position in 6 games. Dallas beat Winnipeg 4-1. The Jets are good, but for over a month the Hurricanes have been a bit better and recently against better teams.

Oilers vs Kraken Over 6.5 (-105)

High totals have been trending for both the Oilers and Kraken lately. The over has hit in 6 out of the Oilers’ last 9 games, as well as in 4 out of the Kraken last 5 games. The total has also gone over in 6 out of Seattle’s last 8 at home and in 8 out of the last 10 played head to head against Edmonton.

The Oilers have scored 4 goals in each of the 3 head-to-head matchups thus far this season. Edmonton scores the 6th most goals per game in the NHL and have the league’s 3rd best power play. They should do their part in contributing and little for the Kraken to do to take this game over the total.

Stars -1.5 and Under 6.5 (+220)

Plainly put, this is a very lopsided game in favor of the Stars. They sit atop the Central division and 2nd in the Western Conference. The Sharks are a punching bag as they are tied for last in the NHL standings and have the league’s worst goal differential. The Stars should not have any issues taking care of business with authority.

The under has hit in the Stars’ last 6 games. During that span there have been 4 games that were decided by at least 2 goals. With that, it gives this puck line with an under more appeal than the +220 odds would indicate. That is especially the case with a good team like the Stars in a matchup against such a bad team like the Sharks.
