Horse Racing picks for Keeneland race track on Friday, October 13: Bold Act can give a strong performance

The start of the Stonestreet Lexington Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday, April 16, 2o21 Lexington12

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Friday, including Keeneland race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now, as we are up +167.85 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Keeneland.

1:00 pm Keeneland (Race 1) – Sound Doctrine 5/2 (2-star play)

Sound Doctrine has had just 5 starts to date, including when winning over 6.5 furlongs in a $35,000 maiden claiming contest on a good main track at Gulfstream Park in May. The son of Mucho Macho Man made his first start since his gelding operation when coming home 13.75-lengths 4th over 7 furlongs in a $30,000 claimer at Churchill Downs. Improvement is expected and he is taken to score now he steps up in distance with Adam Beschizza booked to ride.

2:04 pm Keeneland (Race 3) – Invaluable 8/5 (2-star play)

The 6-year-old Invaluable is the winner of 9 races in her 31-start career, including when successful by a nose in a $25,000 claiming contest over 7 furlongs at Churchill Downs last month. The third horse home that day has won since and the daughter of Include joined the Joe Sharp stable having been claimed following that event. Switched to a starter allowance today, she is taken to follow up after a 37.40 3-furlong breeze at Keeneland recently.

2:36 pm Keeneland (Race 4) – Elite Forces 8/5 (2-star play)

This son of American Freedom is unbeaten in 2 starts at Ellis Park, including when debuting with a 3.5-length success having duelled for the lead when taking a $75,000 maiden claimer over 6 furlongs there in June. The 3-year-old completed a double when again racing prominently stepped up half a furlong in distance there in August and with the drop back to 6 furlongs today no issue and Flavien Prat in the saddle, the colt looks up to maintaining his unbeaten record.

3:05 pm Keeneland (Race 5) – Smart Uncle 8/5 (2-star play)

Trained by Jonathan Thomas, Smart Uncle has shown ability in all 3 starts to date, including when beaten a neck having raced from the front in a maiden special weight over 11 furlongs at Saratoga at the end of July. The son of Uncle Mo has been given a break since that outing having previously placed 4th in a 7-runner stakes contest at Santa Anita. The 3-year-old drops in trip today and looks capable of scoring.

5:16 pm Keeneland (Race 9) – Bold Act 7/2 (2-star play)

The New Approach gelding showed good form in Europe, including when 2.5-lengths 3rd in the Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam over 10 furlongs on good-to-soft going at Saint-Cloud in July. Charles Appleby’s contender subsequently registered a Listed victory over the same distance at Deauville and looks capable of recording another win with Jamie Spencer booked to ride and the trip in his favor following a close 5th in the Listed Prix Turenne at Saint-Cloud last month.
