With MLB Opening Day in the rearview mirror, we are off and running in this 2024 Major League Baseball season. Action on the diamond continues with a hefty 13-game slate on Friday. The games get underway with the New York Yankees hosting the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:05 pm ET and concludes with the Boston Red Sox taking on the Los Angeles Angels at 9:38 pm ET. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Friday, while you can also check out all of our MLB picks for today’s action.

Reds ML (-116)

Orioles vs Pirates under 8.5 (-120)

Red Sox ML (+100)

MLB parlay odds: +610

For this parlay, I am going with a favorites on the money line, an underdog on the underdog on the money line and a game to go under the total. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Cincinnati Reds ML over New York Mets (-116)

It’s been a dreadful start to the season for the Mets, but New York finally won its first game of the season on Thursday with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. It took until the 8th inning for New York to record their first hit, and both of their runs came in the bottom of the 9th. The Mets already come into this game at a disadvantage, having used 8 relievers in their doubleheader on Thursday. Now, their struggling lineup will take on Hunter Greene and a Reds bullpen that has a huge rest advantage heading into this matchup. It doesn’t help matters that Mets starter Jose Quintana allowed a 53.3% hard-hit rate and 2 barreled balls in his season debut for New York and is now tasked with facing a tougher opponent in a tougher ballpark. Let’s get to the window with the Reds in this one.

Baltimore Orioles vs Pittsburgh Pirates under 8.5 (-110)

Grayson Rodriguez will grab his 2nd start of the season for Baltimore in this game, while Jared Jones was electric in his MLB debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates last week, making this starting pitching matchup a must-watch event. Add in the fact that temperatures for the game will be in the low 40s, which should suit both pitchers well. Given this is the Orioles’ first time seeing Jones stuff, he should find success in the early innings at the very least. Behind Jones is a Pirates bullpen that has been lights out to begin the season, seeing meaningful contributions from numerous sources. On the other side, Rodriguez presents a tough obstacle for the Pirates offense to handle, especially with how he looked in his season debut. At 8.5, the total in this one seems a bit on the high side given the starting pitcher talent and favorable weather.

Boston Red Sox ML over Los Angeles Angels (+100)

Don’t look now, but the Boston Red Sox have gotten off to a great start to the 2024 season on the West Coast. It certainly helps that they’ve been able to play the woeful A’s for 3 of their first 7 games, but the Red Sox still took care of business and swept Oakland on the road. Now, we’re getting a bit of a discounted number on Boston in this matchup, especially since Los Angeles is coming off a sweep of its own against the wretched Marlins. The Red Sox should have a significant advantage on the mound in this one, as Kutter Crawford is coming off 6 innings of shutout ball while surrendering just 3 hits against the Mariners, while Angels starter Griffin Canning was knocked around by the Orioles to the tune of 5 earned runs in as many innings. Boston has the deeper lineup and a better starter on the mound, which is enough for me to back the Red Sox as slight underdogs in this one.
