I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. If you’re looking for a way to get a big boost to your bankroll for the upcoming Super Bowl or just the rest of the NHL action this week, we have you covered. The league has kept things a bit more balanced coming out of all-star weekend with back-to-back 6-game slates. That provides us with plenty of opportunities. Therefore I have found the best value on 3 different plays to piece together for this NHL mega parlay. I’m targeting the first puck drop of the night, so let’s get into it.

Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Colorado Avalanche 3-way ML (+155) over Pittsburgh Penguins

One of the 2 first puck drops of the night will take place in the Steel City. It will be the first game of the 2nd half of the season for both the Avalanche and Penguins. These are 2 perennial playoff teams, but both have been a bit more inconsistent this season. Therefore it’s rather surprising that the Avs are listed with such great plus-money odds on the 3-way ML.

They began to find their way heading into all-star weekend. It’s helped them get back into the top half of the Central Division, while the Pens have fallen out of current playoff positioning. Even when Pittsburgh was more consistent last season, the Avs still took them down in both meetings. Their stars should continue their top form after having participated in all-star weekend, that being Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar. Colorado is 7-3 in its last 10 and can keep that momentum going tonight.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (+150) over Detroit Red Wings

The Oilers are looking to take the next step this season after making it to the Western Conference Finals last season. They fell to the eventual-champion Avs, leaving Edmonton fans still disappointed that Connor McDavid has yet to hoist a Stanley Cup. One could say he’s on a revenge tour as he’s on pace for a 150-point season, but that’s just par for the course for him at this point. The Red Wings came out of the gates hot and proved they are a stronger team than last season.

However, they have seemed to regress and are now only above the Montreal Canadiens in the Atlantic Division. Goaltender Vile Husso’s play has declined and now facing the duo of McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, that’s not great news for Detroit. It always doesn’t help that they were shutout in their last game prior to the all-star break. Similarly, they were defeated by a weak Philadelphia Flyers team just prior to that, scoring just 1 goal in the process. The Oilers being on the road is giving us better odds on this play, but they have the firepower to come through.

Nashville Predators ML (-120) over Vegas Golden Knights

Finally, I’m sticking with a basic money line play to wrap things up. It’s understandable that it’s a rather evenly priced game, but the Predators being at home should give them the slight edge. Nashville is one of the toughest places to play, and the Golden Knights have certainly not looked as strong as the start of the year. They were the class of the Western Conference for the first few months.

However, the Golden Knights have since declined — and both the Seattle Kraken and Los Angeles Kings have leapfrogged them in the Pacific Division. News also gets worse for Vegas fans. Captain Mark Stone is yet again undergoing back surgery. This will be his 2nd one in as many years, and he will be out at least a month. They could certainly use such a strong skater when facing a great goaltender in Juuse Saros. He was 1 of the 2 goalies representing the Central Division in the All-Star Game. This may be a close contest, but the Preds should come through on home ice.

Tuesday’s NHL mega parlay (2/7)

Avalanche 3-Way ML (+155)

Oilers -1.5 (+150)

Predators ML (-120)

Parlay odds +1068
