UCLA vs Northwestern Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Bruins have needless to say fallen off the rails completely. UCLA has started off the season 0-3, matching that winless mark against the spread while they were at it. Their losses? Hideous. A blowout to Utah in the Rose Bowl, then UNLV (Mountain West side), and an embarrassing rout in Pasadena against New Mexico which was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Out goes Deshaun Foster and now the Bruins appear to this year’s trainwreck before we even get out of September. Who would bet this team? That’s the better question. However teams in disarray even if they get clobbered offer value because the market has the same idea. Thus, the number next to UCLA’s name here is inflated to generate some action, but with that said the Wildcats who from a quality perspective are perhaps better than the Lobos and Rebels are not even giving the rudderless Bruins a converted touchdown. We are also not entirely sold on the notion of Northwestern being a favorite against any FBS side, they haven’t done that in over a year and when they were in such a spot, they floundered. We know, David Braun has this Northwestern team heading in the right direction but UCLA is the kind of side you want to back here because they have nothing to lose and when a coach gets fired, it is the players who often circle the wagons and work things out on the field. We haven’t been proven that the Bruins may not be better for it. Northwestern is only a favorite here by default not because they are actually better than the Bruins. Had UCLA marched in here with a winning record, they’d be the chalk. Bruins outright.
