The New York Knicks are coming into today’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers after their triumph in the NBA Cup on Tuesday. Being on the road straight away after celebrating such a success in Las Vegas, could lead to a bit of a hangover for the squad. The Pacers have seen Andrew Nembhard return from injury, and he has steadied the ship over the last 10 games, helping the Pacers rank 13th in net offensive and defensive rating. It is worth noting that despite being 2nd in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks have struggled on the road this, with just 4 wins from 10 games. They should not expect an easy outing tonight.
The Pacers have not played since the weekend and will be coming into this contest fresh and ready to push the pace. The visitors on the other could be shorthanded, with Josh Hart, Mitchell Robinson, Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby all listed as questionable. Some of these players are the defensive spine of the Knicks and without them they could have issues slowing down the hosts. The absence of Anunoby could leave them short of defensive options they could deploy against Pascal Siakam. The Pacers star is averaging over 24 points per game at home this season and he should be able to help the hosts not only stay competitive but potentially help them pull off an upset.
