The New York Knicks have not had much of a chance to really celebrate their NBA Cup win, as they are straight back to regular-season action this week. Tonight’s opponent is the Philadelphia 76ers, who have risen to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They also have a winning record on the road this season, so they should be ready for battle at Maddison Square Garden tonight.

Philadelphia 76ers ML (+140)
The Knicks barely escaped with a win against the Indiana Pacers last night and now have a tough task of hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. This will be the third game for the week for the home side, while the 76ers have been resting since the weekend. Mitchell Robinson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh hart all missed yesterday’s game, too; if they are unable to go, the Knicks could risk getting dominated on the glass. Over the last 10 games the visitors also rank in the top 10 of the league in pace of play and will be well positioned to take advantage of their fatigued opponents. Let’s back them to come away with a road win.
VJ Edgecombe Over 13.5 points (-112)
One of the players that will be flying up and down the court for the 76ers will be VJ Edgecombe. Early in his NBA career he has shown the ability to get to the rim and finish explosively. If Robinson and Towns are not there to protect the rim, the rookie should soar. He has also hit the over on this line in each of his last 3 games and has seen at least 38 minutes of playing time in each of those contests. If he sees similar time on Friday, Edgecombe should be able to keep that run going — especially by attacking in transition. He is second on the team in fast-break points per game this season and should be one of the main weapons used against the Knicks.
Tyrese Maxey Over 3.5 made threes (+130)
Tyrese Maxey has established himself as arguably the second-best shooting point guard in the NBA. He is making 39.1% of his 3-point attempts this season and he certainly has a green light to fire away. Maxey is averaging 9.3 attempts per game. He has hit at least 4 triples in 3 of his 4 games this month and should continue that run against the Knicks. Being matched up against an undersized guard in Jalen Brunson will help. Look for the 76ers’ star to exploit that matchup. Playing on the road should not be an issue for him, either, as his 3-point efficiency jumps to 40.5% in those games this season.
