A measly 5-game slate including a Braves-Phillies doubleheader headlines the Thursday MLB action. Let’s dive into my best MLB prop bets for Thursday, May 29, while you can also find out our MLB picks for every matchup today.

Best MLB player prop bet: Phillies F5 -0.5 over Braves (Game 1) (-105)

Odds available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies will go head-to-head twice today after last night’s rainout. The Phillies will have LHP Cristopher Sánchez on the mound, who has been marvelous this season. He currently hoists a 3.13 xERA and .228 xBA – Ranking in the top 75th percentiles in baseball.

The Braves will answer with 22-year-old AJ Smith-Shawver, whose advanced metrics scream “lucky.” His xERA ranks bottom 10 amongst pitchers, and he is coming off allowing eight earned runs in his last start versus the Nationals. He could be in real trouble versus one of the most feared lineups in baseball versus right-handed pitching – Even with Bryce Harper sidelined.

Best MLB player prop bet: Nationals/Mariners F5 under 4.5 runs (-115)

Odds available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.

If you can get money down on BetMGM, go ahead and back the under through the first five innings in Nationals-Mariners. The price discrepancy between BetMGM and other major books is massive. BetMGM is offering this prop at -115, while the next best price on the market is -135 on DraftKings and ESPN.

T-Mobile Park is one of the most pitcher-friendly parks at night. MacKenzie Gore will get the ball for Washington and is in the midst of a solid year. Emerson Hancock will be on the bump for the Mariners, and it’s been nothing to be proud of. His 1.65 WHIP is disastrous, but at -115 on a prop nearly unplayable on other books, it’s a play that has to make the betting card.
