It’s always fun fading the Chicago White Sox — especially when a righty is going after them. Over the last month, the White Sox have been hitting .212 (2nd-worst in baseball) and striking out at a top-10 rate in baseball against RHP. That leads us to backing Dustin May tonight at home.
I won’t give too much credit to May. It hasn’t been a great first half of the season for him. He had a 5.67 ERA in June while only registering 5+ strikeouts in 2 of 5 outings. May was dealt tough matchups regarding K%, as the Padres, Nationals and Royals all rank in the top 10 in K% versus RHP over the last 30 days. In fact, all five of his opponents ranked in the top 15 in that department. Nonetheless, the White Sox offer an opportunity for May to get back on track against a softer opponent before the all-star break.
