The NBA brings us 7-games on Saturday with the featured game live on NBC. The Denver Nuggets will be taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. The game will feature a couple of the leading European stars in the league. These sides have recent history, too, having run into each other in recent years in the playoffs. Expect fireworks as a result.
You can read all of our NBA previews. But first, check out my best bets for Saturday’s games.
Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks best bet: Over 228 (-110)
These 2 teams combined for over 228 points the last time they met. The Hawks have been in the top 5 of the league in pace over the last 10 games while the visitors have been in the bottom 5 of the league in defensive rating. However, they have been making up for it by being a top 10 side in 3-pointers made per game. It should lead to another high-scoring game.
Charlotte Hornets vs San Antonio Spurs best bet: Spurs -4.5 (-110)
The Spurs have been a powerhouse on their home court, with the second fewest losses in the NBA. Over the last 10 games they have been fourth in opponent 3-point percentage and should be able to take away the one weapon that has helped fuel the Hornets resurgence this season. If Victor Wembanyama is available, the Hornets won’t have much luck in the paint, either.
Washington Wizards vs Boston Celtics best bet: Alex Sarr over 12.5 points (-110)
Alex Sarr dominated the last time he took on the Celtics, dropping 31 points. While his minutes have been somewhat limited of late, he has still attempted double-digit shots in 5 of his last 6 games. Against an opponent he has had success this season, those shots should be enough for him to clear this over.
Orlando Magic vs Miami Heat best bet: Magic +4.5 (-110)
The Magic have already beaten the Heat 4 times this season. They are on a 6-game winning streak and have been in the top 10 of the league in defensive rating. Andrew Wiggins is also out for the Heat and Norman Powell and Tyler Herro are both questionable to play. With that much firepower missing, they should struggle to overcome this defensive unit.
Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers best bet: Deandre Ayton over 7.5 rebounds (-112)
Deandre Ayton has played a bigger role for the Lakers of late, with 34 and 37 minutes in each of the last 2 contests. Up against Nikola Jokic, he will be needed on the floor to match up against the Serbian. In each of the last 3 games he has managed 30 or more minutes, he has recorded double-digit rebounds. He has the size to have a similar impact in this one.
Sacramento Kings vs Los Angeles Clippers best bet: Clippers -13.5 (-110)
Over the last 10 games the Clippers have been seventh in net offensive and defensive rating. With that elite level of play, they should dominate a Sacramento team that has struggled on its travels. They have the worst points differential of all NBA teams when playing on the road at -13.7. The Clippers, who have won 4 straight, should be able to dominate.
