The NBA takes a slight brake from NBA Cup action on Thursday night as it brings us a 4-game slate. Among the teams in action are the Boston Celtics, who currently hold the 2nd longest active winning streak in the NBA. They will look to continue this run against the Milwaukee Bucks. Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are also in action, looking to secure a stronger hold on the 2nd seed in the Western Conference.
You can find all of our NBA previews here. But first, take a look at my best bets for each of the nights games below.
Celtics vs Bucks best bet: Over 224.5 (-106)
The Boston Celtics have seen each of their last 8 games surpass the combined 225-point mark. They have been carrying the scoring in those contests, surpassing the 120-point mark in 4 straight games. With the Bucks just 22nd in defensive rating over the last 10 games, the visitors should be able to help carry the game over 224.5 points once more.
Clippers vs Rockets best bet: Ivica Zubac over 10.5 rebounds (-110)
Iviza Zubac has been on a great rebounding roll of late having recorded 11 or more rebounds in 5 of his last 6 games. He will be matched up against a pair of centers who hardly space the floor which will have the Croatian in prime rebounding position all night long. He averages 11.6 rebounds on the season and should be able to get to a similar mark here.
Trail Blazers vs Pelicans best bet: Trail Blazers -4.5 (-108)
The Pelicans find themselves on a 7-game losing streak, with just one of those games being decided by a fewer than a 5-point margin. They have the worst home record in the league and will be taking on a team that has twice as many wins away from home than they do in Portland. It’s hard to see the Pelicans losing streak end here.
Denver Nuggets vs Sacramento Kings best bet: Jonas Valanciunas over 4.5 rebounds (-112)
The Sacramento Kings really lack size now that Sabonis is injured. They will struggle to contain Jokic and once the former MVP tires them out, Valanciunas should be able to sweep in and dominate the glass. He already has a 7-rebound performance against them this season and should be able to do something similar against a team 29th in rebounding percentage over the last 10 games.
