The NBA brings us a 5-game slate on Thursday night, which includes a clash between the 2nd-placed teams in each of the conferences. The Los Angeles Lakers will be visiting the Toronto Raptors, with both teams hoping to close the gap at the top of the conference with a win. You can check out our predictions for that game and all of our expert NBA picks for tonight’s matchups and every game throughout the entire season. But for now, let’s break down my NBA best bets for today.
Warriors vs 76ers best bet: 76ers -2.5 (-106)
The Warriors announced that Steph Curry will be out for several more games. It will not help their chances of improving their 4-8 road record this season as they take on the 76ers. Tyrese Maxey has scored 79 combined points over the last 2 games, and the firepower of the hosts’ backcourt should help them cover the spread here.

Celtics vs Wizards best bet: Over 230.5 (-110)
The Wizards have seen 7 of their last 10 games go over the combined 230-point mark. They are now taking on a Celtics team that is 2nd in offensive rating over the last 10 games while also being 22nd in defensive rating. These teams are also 4th and 11th in that stretch in three-point percentage, which should turn this into a high-scoring encounter.
Lakers vs Raptors best bet: Scottie Barnes over 1.5 steals (+162)
Barnes averaged 1.5 steals per game in November and should be able to exceed that here. This season, the Lakers are 26th in opponent steals per game, so should prove to be a very favorable opponent. With Luka Doncic being out too, the Lakers’ offense will have to make adjustments without their top ball handler and playmaker. That should lead to mistakes.

Jazz vs Nets best bet: Jazz -4.5 (-110)
The Nets will be playing the 2nd game of a back-to-back set. They are 0-4 in games without a night’s rest this season, with a points differential of -18.5 in those contests. They are also 1-9 in home games this season and should struggle taking down a Jazz team that is powered by the high-scoring Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George.

Timberwolves vs Pelicans best bet: Rudy Gobert to record a double-double (+100)
This will be the 2nd straight game between these teams, and Rudy Gobert managed to put up a 26-point and 13-rebound performance the last time out. He has a major size advantage in the paint over Derik Queen, which should allow him to be a menace on the boards on both ends, leading to 2nd-chance points too.
