Best NBA Bets Today: Odds & Picks for every game on Tuesday, January 13

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA brings us a 7-game slate on Tuesday, and it will feature a grudge match between 2 of the best teams in the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs have had the better of the Oklahoma City Thunder so far this season and today’s game will give the defending champions a chance to punch back.

You can find our NBA previews for that and all of the other games here. But first, check out my best bets for each of the games below.

Phoenix Suns vs Miami Heat best bet: Suns ML (-105)

The Phoenix Suns have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA, winning 8 of their last 10 games. They take on a Miami Heat team that has lost 3 straight games. With Norman Powell likely to miss the contest and Tyler Herro struggling to score from the perimeter, making 20% of his 3-point attempts this month, the hosts should have issues scoring against the top ranked team in defensive rating over the last 10 games.

Chicago Bulls vs Houston Rockets best bet: Tre Jones over 9.5 rebounds + assists (-125)

Tre Jones has hit the over on this line in 3 of his last 6 games. With both Josh Giddey and Coby White expected to be out, Jones should be thrust into a huge role in this contest. If he pushes past 30 minutes of playing time, we should see the guard stuff the stat sheet in this one. The Rockets are 27th in true shooting percentage over the last 10 games so expect for there to be rebounds for Jones to chase down.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Milwaukee Bucks best bet: Bucks -3.5 (-110)

Anthony Edwards has been ruled out of this contest, leaving the visitors shorthanded against Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks have been in the top half of the league in offensive rating over the last 10 games. Without their superstar guard, the Timberwolves offense should lack the firepower to keep pace here.

Denver Nuggets vs New Orleans Pelicans best bet: Pelicans ML (+115)

The Denver Nuggets will be undersized without the services of Nikola Jokic and Jonas Valanciunas. That should work directly into the hands of Zion Williamson, who is making over 64% of his field goal attempts this month. With the visitors also ranking 24th in opponent 3-point percentage, the visitors will struggle keeping up with the offense being shorthanded.

San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder best bet: Spurs +8.5 (-110)

The Spurs have dominated the Thunder so far this season, winning all 3 games, with 2 of the contests being decided by double-digits. The Thunder will also be without Isaiah Hartenstein, leaving them without one of their key pieces that could slow down Victor Wembanyama. Based on results this season, take the points on the Spurs.

Atlanta Hawks vs Los Angeles Lakers best bet: Over 232.5 (-110)

The Los Angeles Lakers will be on the second night of a back-to-back so could see a drop in their defensive performance. Considering that the Hawks are 2nd in the league in pace over the last 10 games, they should generate enough possessions to help carry this game over the 232-point mark.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors best bet: Al Horford over 6.5 points (+100)

Al Horford has been able to hit the over on this line in 6 of his last 8 games. He should have a major role to play tonight as they look to have him match up against Donovan Clingan. With Horford shooting at a 40% clip from deep this month, he should be able to cause plenty of damage from the perimeter, helping him clear this over once more.
