Best NBA Bets Today: Odds & Picks for every game on Wednesday, January 21

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. Last night delivered interesting NBA results which included the Utah Jazz upsetting the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tonight could be set up for more shocks as the Oklahoma City Thunder are in action against the Milwaukee Bucks. Going up against the a former MVP in Giannis Antetokoumpo should be a dangerous proposition for the defending champions.

You can find our NBA previews here. But first check out my best bets for each of Wednesdays games below.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Charlotte Hornets best bet: Cavaliers -2.5 (-110)

The Hornets have been playing better of late but a couple of there recent wins have come against the shorthanded Denver Nuggets and the rollercoaster of a team that’s the Los Angeles Lakers. Against a Cavaliers team that have beaten them in 4 of their last 5 meetings, it should prove to be a reality check for the hosts.

Indiana Pacers vs Boston Celtics best bet: Jay Huff over 1.5 made threes (-114)

Jay Huff was on fire the last time he played the Celtics. He knocked down 4 3-pointers in that effort and could follow up with something similar here. He has not attempted fewer than 5 3-pointers in his 3 games against them this season. Considering he is making 42.5% of his shots from deep this month, those attempts should be enough to hit the over.

Brooklyn Nets vs New York Knicks best bet: Over 222.5 (-110)

The Knicks have had issues offensively but luckily they get to go up against a Nets team that is 29th in defensive rating over the last 10 games. Their opponents are also 28th in opponent fast break points per game so look for the Knicks to push the tempo and try and take advantage. With the extra possessions that should create, the over should fall.

Atlanta Hawks vs Memphis Grizzlies best bet: Jaren Jackson Jr. over 1.5 made threes (+114)

Grizzlies forward Jackson Jr. has knocked down 2 or more 3-pointers in each of his last 2 games. He is making 41.2% percent of his 3-point attempts this month so would not require too many attempts to hit the over. The Hawks are 18th in opponent 3-point attempts per game so should give those looks to him tonight.

Detroit Pistons vs New Orleans Pelicans best bet: Under 234.5 (-110)

In each of the last 6 games the Pistons have held opponents to 105 or fewer points. They are also 3rd in opponent points in the paint over the last 10 games and will be in a great position to shut down a Pelicans team that heavily relies on scoring inside. If they struggle for efficiency there, they will struggle to do their part for the over.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Milwaukee Bucks best bet: Chet Holmgren under 9.5 rebounds (-132)

In the 2 months prior to January, Holmgren managed 10 or more rebounds just 3 times. With him managing to do it 5 times in January, this line has been skewed. Against a Milwaukee Bucks team that has Myles Turner who can pull him away from the basket and Antetokounmpo who should be able to bully him down low, expect Holmgren to return back to his former form.

Toronto Raptors vs Sacramento Kings best bet: DeMar DeRozan over 18.5 points (-102)

DeRozan seems to take it personal whenever he takes on the Raptors. Last season he averaged 30 points per game against them. He is coming into this contest having scored 20 or more points in 6 of his last 8 games and with the motivation of taking on a former team, expect that to continue.
