Winnipeg Jets ML over St. Louis Blues (-155)

The way this series has gone, it is difficult to fade the Jets in this spot. For starters, home teams have completely dominated this series. The Blues have been dominant at home but have yet to show up to play on the road. Same with the Jets. They have not showed up to play on the road, but have been dominant at home. In the 3 games played in Winnipeg this series, the Jets have won all 3 by an average final score of 4.0-2.33. In those games, they also outshot the Blues an average of 24.67-19.33.

The string home performances are nothing new for the Jets. Between the regular season and now postseason, they are now 33-7-4 at home in 2024-25. Included on that stretch is 8 wins in their last 9 on home ice and obviously 3 straight. This series has two completely independent storylines in terms of what has happened in St. Louis and what has happened in Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, the Jets have shown why they were the Presidents’ Trophy winners and top overall playoff seed. They have given no indication that trend will change. This is a great team in a favorable spot in a must-win. The Jets are the more reliable play.

Over 5.5 (+136)

This has been a high scoring series. The over has hit in 5 out of the 6 games played in this series with the average game total being 6.83 entering Game 7. With that, the over has now hit in 8 out of the Blues’ last 9 games. In these teams’ respective last 10 games, the over is 14-6 in those combined 20 games. Both the Blues and Jets have flexed strong goal scoring, as well as weak goal prevention. That volatility between both teams has proven to be a recipe for high totals. The pure matchup of these teams, their strengths and weaknesses, and the way this series has gone all give the overs trends appeal to ride.

Another factor that could help reinforce offensive production trends in this series is the physical play. The rough and tough nature of this series has led to several power plays in this series. During the regular season, Blues games had an average of 6.23 penalties combined drawn and taken per 60 minutes. For the Jets, that number was 6.12. In this series, that number for both teams is 13.83 total penalties per 60 minutes. Given that this is Game 7, these teams won’t deviate too much from how they have played this series and try anything new. The way they have played this series has fostered goal production both even strength and with a man advantage. Getting plus money for a 6th over 5.5 total goals in 7 games is great value.

Nikolaj Ehlers anytime goalscorer (+255)

Nikolaj Ehlers missed the first 5 games of this series, but returned for Game 6 despite a ‘Doubtful’ tag entering the contest. Given the injury to Mark Scheifele, Ehlers was thrust onto the second line and top power play, both of which are where he belongs when he is healthy. He tallied 3 shots on goal in 16 minutes of ice time. This is a very talented player who now his legs under him for what is now the most important game of the season.

This season, Ehlers had 24 goals and 63 points in 69 games played. It was the 8th season out of the 10 in his career that he logged over 20 goals. At any time, Ehlers is on the ice with familiar, talented teammates as his linemates are Adam Lowry and Cole Perfetti. He shares the top power play with Perfetti, Kyle Connor, Gabe Vilardi, and Josh Morrissey. At any time during a game, Ehlers’ speed, skill, and teammates give him a chance to produce. Tonight he has added urgency of a do or die game and added adrenaline from a home crowd. Look for Ehlers to have a little extra jump in his step to get back on the scoreboard in a massive game.
