The Washington Capitals are looking to eliminate the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night, as Washington holds a 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5. The series returns to the nation’s capital after a pair of games in Montreal, and puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. If you will be tuning in and want to have some action, here is our Capitals vs Canadiens Same Game Parlay worth considering at +496 odds.

In addition, don’t forget to check out our expert NHL picks for all 3 of Wednesday’s postseason games.

Capitals -1.5 (+130)

Logan Thompson over 22.5 saves (-125)

John Carlson to record an assist (+134)

Same Game Parlay odds: +496

Capitals -1.5 (+130)

Washington won both Games 1 and 2 on home ice, and they will be highly motivated to close out this series on home ice in Game 5. The offense has been firing on all cylinders, as the Caps have potted 14 goals through the first 4 games. The scoring wealth has been spread out, as 8 total players have scored at least 1 goal, and 16 total players have recorded at least a point. Somewhat surprisingly, the power play has not been solid. Washington is just 1-for-10 on the man advantage in this series, including an 0-for-5 mark in Game 4. Look for that to turn around in this one.

Logan Thompson has been spectacular in net, owning a  2.54 goals-against average and .912 save percentage in the series. He has been even better than those numbers indicate, as those numbers are a little inflated because of his tough Game 3 performance. Thompson allowed just 3 total goals in the first 2 games of this series at home, and posted save percentages of .943 and .962 in those contests. Look for the offense to continue clicking while Thompson holds things down in net en route to a Caps victory by multiple goals.

Logan Thompson over 22.5 saves (-125)

As previously mentioned, Thompson was tremendous in Games 1 and 2 on home ice. He stopped 33-of-35 shots in Game 1, then turned aside 25-of-26 shots in Game 2. It has been a resurgent year for the 28-year-old netminder, who posted a 2.49 goals-against average and .910 save percentage during the regular season. He also won a career-high 31 games and suffered just 6 losses. Montreal averaged 33.7 shots on goal per game in the first 3 games of this series, but fired just 18 shots on goal in Game 4. With their backs against the wall, look for the Canadiens to come out firing against Thompson. He should be ready to answer the call, which could lead to a high save total.

John Carlson to record an assist (+134)

Veteran defenseman John Carlson has yet to record a point in this series. Needless to say, he is due to find the score sheet. Carlson collected 51 points on 5 goals and 46 assists during the regular season, and his 46 helpers were tied for second-most on the team. Carlson sees plenty of ice time, and has averaged 24:12 of ice time so far this series. He is also second on the team with a rating of +4 so far this postseason. In addition, he quarterbacks Washington’s top power play unit, meaning he sees action with top goal-scorers like Dylan Strome and Alex Ovechkin. Carlson has 55 playoff assists to his name in his career, and after being held off the score sheet in Games 1-4, look for Carlson to have an offensive impact in Game 5.
