It’s hard to believe we’re already in Week 10 of the NFL season. Teams are starting to separate themselves after the trade deadline as to who the real playoff contenders are and who will likely be rebuilding in 2026. As it relates to the TNF, the Las Vegas Raiders have likely punted on the season after trading WR1 Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Denver Broncos (-9) stayed put at the deadline, and at 7-2, they’re in a real position to make a run for the #1 seed in the AFC. Tonight’s matchup doesn’t appear to be a competitive one, but I believe I’ve found some value in a player positively impacted by the recent trade in Las Vegas. This is really more coach speak and projecting than a concrete analytical approach that I normally take. With Meyers now gone, it allows Pete Carroll and OC Chip Kelly to evaluate the talent on offensive players not named Brock Bowers. Bech was a 2nd-round pick who’s played sparingly this season, but has had his moments. This week in practice, QB Geno Smith said “the opportunities haven’t really been there for him to showcase what he can do, but that may change here in the future.” Pete Carroll stated “his role is becoming clear.”
While none of this is earth-shattering, I do believe Bech will see an increased snap count on TNF, which is good enough in a game where they’ll likely be playing from behind. In 2 of the last 3 weeks, he’s had 2+ and 3+ receptions while seeing his snap count increase to well over 53%, and over the last 3 weeks, he’s run 19, 20, and 16 routes. Again, I only expect that number to increase with Meyers’ departure. If you’re feeling frisky, 4+ receptions is available at +850, but I would go light at 0.25u.
