We’ve got a strong slate of MLB action on the docket for Tuesday, July 8 with plenty of exciting series in store. Among today’s matchups are Mets vs OriolesMariners vs YankeesCubs vs Twins and Dodgers vs Brewers on TBS. There are plenty of ways you can wager on these matchups, but one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first or second inning — YRFI, NRFI or NRSI. There is value to be had in this market, and I’m looking to improve the Pickswise team’s 15-11 YRFI/NRFI run. Let’s dive in, while you can also find out our expert MLB picks for EVERY GAME today.

YRFI/NRFI/NRSI best bet: Pirates vs Royals – NRSI (-144)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We are back again with a Tuesday NRSI. We have 2 gifted pitchers on the mound who we need a clean 6 outs from in the 2nd inning. Pitching for Kansas City is Seth Lugo. He is red hot at home, holding a 2.42  ERA, and in June, he boasted a wildly impressive 1.26 ERA through 5 starts. He should make quick work of this struggling Pirates offense.

On the flip side, we have Mitch Keller toeing the rubber for Pittsburgh. He holds a 3.16 road ERA and is fresh off an electric 7-inning shutout against St. Louis. He should likely avoid Bobby Witt, which makes me significantly like this NRSI more than the NRFI. We just need 6 clean outs, and despite 12 runs being scored yesterday, neither of these teams scored in the 2nd inning. Let’s hope for more of the same today!
