We’ve got a more-than-full 16-game MLB slate to look forward to on Tuesday, August 19, with the Brewers and Cubs contesting a doubleheader. As we edge ever-closer to the end of the season, games and series are beginning to mean that little bit more. We’ve got a hot Astros vs Cubs matchup on TBS to get hyped up for, along with Mets vs Nationals, Mariners vs Phillies, Yankees vs Rays, Reds vs Angels and Giants vs Padres. Right now I’m turning my attention to the fastest baseball wager you can make — YRFI or NRFI. These focus on if a run will be scored in the first inning, and has grown massively in popularity in recent years. Let’s dive into my YRFI/NRFI best bet of the day. You can also find out our expert MLB picks for EVERY GAME today.

YRFI/NRFI best bet: Mariners vs Phillies – NRFI (-118)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

For my YRFI/NRFI best bet, It may look bold to take a NRFI on the 8th and 15th scoring offenses in the 1st inning. With that being said, I love these 2 pitchers on the mound. Bryan Miller has been brutal this year with a 5.73 ERA, but the caveat is that he holds a much more impressive 1.80 ERA in the 1st inning. He will have his hands full with this stacked Phillies offense, but he’s due some positive regression.

As for Cristopher Sanchez, he is a wagon. He has a 2.25 ERA in the 1st inning and should make light work of Seattle in a somewhat bounce-back performance. Although this game will feature some heavy hitters, I like these 2 pitchers to do their jobs early. Last night we saw them combine for 19 runs and the NRFI still hit. Let’s roll!
