NBA Prop Bets Today: Amen Thompson and Darius Garland amongst best NBA Player Props for Monday

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA has just 4 games on the NBA slate for us on Monday, but there are still some compelling matchups for fans to enjoy. The first of these nationally televised games of NBA TV will see an Eastern Conference clash between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. That will be followed by a Western Conference collision between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers to close out the proceedings.

You can find all of our NBA previews for each matchup. But first, check out my favorite player props for Monday’s action below.

Amen Thompson (HOU) over 1.5 steals (-105)

Amen Thompson has been on a great defensive streak of late. In fact, he’s averaged 1.7 steals per game in February and has not had a game without a steal since January 14. On Monday, he will get the chance to take on the Washington Wizards, a team that is 29th in the league in opponent steals per game over the last 10 contests. When Thompson faced off against them earlier in the season, he managed 3 takeaways. The Rockets man is a terrific on ball defender and should thrive against this young core of Wizards guards. The Wizards are 3rd in pace over the last 10 contests too, creating extra possessions and more opportunities for mistakes for Thompson to pick off.

Darius Garland (LAC) over 12.5 points (+100)

Today we will see the debut of Darius Garland in a Los Angeles Clippers uniform. Considering he is coming off a toe injury, there should be no reason for him to see a major minutes restriction. The guard is averaging 18 points per game this season and I expect his new teammates to get him involved from the get-go. The Warriors are in the bottom 10 in the league in defensive rating. With Kristaps Porzingis confirmed out, Garland should have an easier time attacking the paint and finishing at the rim. Garland had success against the Warriors last season too, averaging 26 points per game in 2 contests. Ultimately, the Warriors should be the perfect opponent for him to get off to a fast start in his new uniform.
