Thursday in the NBA brings us a huge 10-game slate. A couple of high quality matchups will be available on PRIME. To start the night the Houston Rockets will be taking on the Orlando Magic. That will be followed by the clash between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers. With all these teams in the playoff mix, there is enough at stake tonight to keep things interesting.
You can find all of our NBA previews here. But first check out my favorite player props below.
Jalen Green (PHX) under 20.5 points (-112)
Jalen Green has not been having a good season. While injuries have played a part, he has still only managed to score 20 or more points just twice in 11 games. His efficiency in recent games has been abysmal too, making 34% of his field goal attempts in February and just 21.7% of his 3-point shots. This month he is also averaging just 2 free throw attempts per game so has shown a tendency to keep firing away instead of trying to aggressively attack the rim. He is going up against a Los Angeles Lakers team that is middle of the pack in defensive rating over the last 10 games. They are coming into this after a close loss to the Magic so expect a motivated unit here. This does not feel like the type of game Green can get out of his slump in.
Norman Powell (MIA) over 2.5 made threes (-114)
The last time that Normal Powell took on the Philadelphia 76ers he torched them by dropping 32 points on 4 of 7 shooting from 3-point range. Do not be surprised to see him do something similar here. Over his last 5 regular season games he has managed to hit the over on this line on 4 occasions. He is coming into this contest after 3 straight games of attempting 8 3-pointers and considering he is a 39.2% shooter on the season, that output gives him a great chance to knock down at least 3. During the last 10 games the 76ers are 20th in the league in opponent 3-point makes per game. They are not well positioned to contain Powell tonight.
Donovan Clingan (POR) over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists (-104)
The Chicago Bulls had no answer for Donovan Clingan the last time they matched up against him. The Portland Trail Blazers center dropped a 17-point and 21-rebound performance against them. Over the last 10 games the Bulls are 25th in both rebounding percentage and opponent points in the paint while also ranking 28th in opponent second chance points per game. With the team facing continued issues inside, expect another dominant Clingan display here. In recent games he has shown his passing skills too. He has recorded 5 or more assists 3 times this month including a season high 7 against the Utah Jazz. It could be help give this line a little push over the combined 34 mark.
