The NBA is back! Fresh off Opening Night, we have a juicy 12-game slate to sink our teeth into on Wednesday, October 22, as 24 teams take to the court for the first time this season. With tons of matchups to get hyped up for, I’ve dived into each one of them and have picked out my best NBA player prop bet for the action. Let’s break it down, while you can also grab all of our NBA picks for Wednesday’s games along with every matchup this season!
Best NBA player prop bet: Nikola Vucevic (CHI) over 9.5 rebounds (-120)
Odds available at Fanatics Sportsbook at time of publishing.
We are back for another exciting NBA season. Since I started handicapping NBA player props, I have had 4 straight profitable seasons, and this year I’m fully locked in to make it 5. As always, we will start the year being extra selective as we get more of an understanding of teams’ rotations and minutes allocated, but I’m kicking things off by targeting Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls.
This bet has been a goldmine for us over the years. Vucevic is a vaccum at grabbing boards against my beloved Pistons. He has hit 10+ rebounds in 6 of his last 7 against Detroit, and the only miss was due to a blowout after he was on pace through 3 quarters. Given this is Game 1 of the season, I expect teams to have some rust and we may see early struggles in shooting, which should lead to more rebound opportunities. Jalen Duren will be Vucevic’s assignment. He plays close to the basket and can’t stretch the floor whatsoever. This game holds a very close spread, so I’m hoping it can stay close and competitive so Nikola can see his usual 30+ minutes. Let’s have another fantastic year of NBA betting!
