The 76ers have not been successful playing without Joel Embiid and Paul George this season. Both will be out tonight, while rookie star V.J. Edgecombe is likely to sit after landing awkwardly on his back 2 games ago. Kelly Oubre makes his return after a 2-game absence, but I’m looking at Quentin Grimes as our top NBA player prop of the Saturday slate.
Grimes is playing for a new contract next season, after the 76ers signed him to a 1-year deal as a restricted free agent. These are the types of games in which Grimes is looking to prove that he deserves a big payday. A 232.5 total versus the Atlanta Hawks will feature a blazing pace for both teams, giving Grimes an ample amount of opportunities to eclipse this line. He’ll have a few rotations without all-star Tyrese Maxey on the court tonight, and we’re looking for Grimes to take advantage of that.
FanDuel and DraftKings are offering his rebounds+assists prop at 6.5 but at price tags of -147 and -154 — not a price I’m willing to pay, even with a market that has thin margins.
