Before we get to NBA Cup quarterfinal action this week, the association brings us 3 more regular-season games on Monday, December 8. One of the more interesting matchups will see the Phoenix Suns taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The teams currently occupy the 6th and 7th spots in the Western Conference, and a win for the Timberwolves would see them put more space between themselves and the play-in positions. You can find out our NBA picks for all of tonight’s matchups, but for now, let’s break down my best NBA player prop bets for tonight’s action.
Rudy Gobert (MIN) over 10.5 rebounds (+108)
Odds available at Fanatics Sportsbook at time of publishing.
This will be the 2nd time that Rudy Gobert has faced off against the Phoenix Suns this season. The first meeting saw him dominate the glass on the way to a 12-rebound performance. It is one of the games in a 9-game stretch in which the Frenchman recorded 12+ boards. The matchup against Mark Williams is a favorable one, as he does not have to step out and guard his opponent on the perimeter.
The Suns have also had issues shooting the ball of late, ranking just 23rd in true shooting percentage over the last 10 games. With the Timberwolves in the top 10 in the league in defensive rating during that time, there should be no shortage of defensive rebounds for Gobert to chase down. Expect him to hit the over on this line.

Luke Kornet (SA) over 1.5 blocks (-130)
Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Luke Kornet has done an admirable job stepping in and filling in for Victor Wembanyama as a rim protector for the San Antonio Spurs. He is coming into tonight’s contest having recorded 8 combined blocks over the last 2 games.
The matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans should prove to be incredibly favorable, too. They have an undersized frontline, and Kornet will tower over his direct matchup in Derik Queen. He should have success impacting his shots tonight. This season, no team in the NBA allows more blocks per game to opponents than the Pelicans, and with Kornet’s recent run, look for him to be the one collecting these rejections tonight.
