Last night’s NBA action did not disappoint, with the Phoenix Suns almost completing an improbable comeback against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tonight’s NBA slate will look to live up to that with 5 more games. Among them is a contest between the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets, as both teams try to get a grip on the second seed in the Western Conference.
Also check out all of our NBA previews. But for now, here are my favorite player props for Monday’s NBA action.
Santi Aldama (MEM) 3+ made threes (+190)
With Zach Edey out, Santi Aldama steps into the starting lineup. The Spaniard has been on fire in recent games, so do not be surprised to see him keep it up tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. He comes into this contest after 2 straight 22-point performances in which he made 7 of 14 attempts from deep. With Ivica Zubac occupying the paint, Aldama is not going to try and post him up — instead he should look to be a floor spacer to allow the Grizzlies’ guards to attack the rim. This season the Clippers are bottom of the NBA in opponent 3-point percentage, so do not expect them to be able to have a major impact on Aldama’s shooting. Let’s back him to keep his current hot streak going.
Nikola Jokic (DEN) to record a triple-double (+105)
The points line of this bet should be a given for Nikola Jokic, so let’s focus on the other 2. When it comes to rebounding, he will be up against Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams. Both are strong rebounders, but neither spaces the floor — which should keep Jokic in and around the paint. It is no surprise that in the last contest between these sides, the Serb managed double-digit boards. Passing wise, Jokic has recorded double-digit assists in 6 of his last 8 games. The Rockets have the squad with the likes of Amen Thompson to send effective help towards Jokic, forcing him to give up the ball. Jokic has great shooters around him and will have a great outlet in Jamal Murray to give the ball to. The Nuggets’ guard is making 57.6% of his 3-point attempts this month and should help Jokic rack up the assists.
