NBA Prop Bets Today: Wendell Carter Jr. and Victor Wembanyama amongst best NBA Player Props for Monday

Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. The NBA brings us a 9-game slate to start the week with plenty of exciting action for us to check out. Two of the surprise packages of this season so far in the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs will be taking to the floor looking to keep their hot starts going. To the surprise of many, the teams are 1st and 2nd in their conferences, respectively. You can check out our expert NBA picks for their games and all of the night’s action. But for now, let’s dive into my best NBA player prop bets for Monday, November 10.

Wendell Carter Jr. (ORL) over 8.5 rebounds (+112)

Odds available at bet365 at time of publishing.

Wendell Carter Jr. should find himself in and around the paint the entire night as he matches up against the Portland Trail Blazers and their center Donovan Clingan. The sophomore offers very little in terms of floor spacing and the same goes for his backup Robert Williams III. Both, however, can be very active on the offensive glass and it will be up to Carter Jr. to beat them to the missed shots. There should be no shortage of those, as the Blazers are in the bottom 10 of true shooting percentage while also being 2nd in the league in pace. The Magic’s center has seen consistent minutes, managing at least 30 in 3 straight games, and something similar should provide him with more than enough time to hit the over.

Victor Wembanyama (SA) over 3.5 blocks (-130)

Odds available at bet365 at time of publishing.

This could be a very favorable matchup for Victor Wembanyama. When these teams faced off last season, the Frenchman was able to record a spectacular 8-block performance. Considering that the Bulls have relied heavily on getting inside to score, ranking 4th in the league in points in the paint, it should play directly into Wembanyama’s hands. The Bulls have also ranked in the bottom 10 of the league in three-point attempts per game and they could look to continue to challenge the Spurs star in the paint. With a center like Nikola Vucevic on the floor too, who will not have the size or athleticism to create consistent separation from Wemby, the blocks should rack up tonight.

Jose Alvarado (NO) over 1.5 made threes (-130)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

To start November, New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado has been on a heater. He has hit 62.5% of his three-point attempts and managed to hit the over in 3 straight contests on this line. For a team that ranks in the bottom 10 in the league in three-point makes per game, he should be able to carve out a bigger role with his recent play. It also helps that he is playing with Derik Queen in the second unit. The rookie has shown pass-first tendencies in recent games and should be able to pick out the hot-shooting Alvarado from the post. The Suns do not exactly boast of a great defensive backcourt either, with Devin Booker and Jalen Green seeing the majority of the minutes. Matched up against either of them, I expect Alvaro to be looking for his shot.
