The NBA brings us an 4-game slate on Thursday with the featured game being the Atlanta Hawks vs San Antonio Spurs live on NBA TV. With Victor Wembanyama being out for a few weeks, the rest of the Spurs will be hoping they can keep the team afloat and in the playoff race until he returns. Check out our preview for that and the other NBA games here. Until then, take a look at my favorite player props below.
Zach Edey (MEM) over 1.5 blocks (+100)
Zach Edey has been reintegrated into the Memphis Grizzlies over the last couple of games and has already been an anchor for them defensively. In both of the games he recorded 2 blocks and now will have a chance to keep the run going against the Sacramento Kings. Edey will have a size advantage over both of the their bigs in Domantas Sabonis and Precious Achiuwa. Both bigs are at their best when attacking the rim putting the Grizzlies center in a great position to get blocks. It is worth noting that the Canadian averaged 2.5 blocks against the Kings last season. With his opponents 23rd this season in opponent blocks per game this year, allowing 5.3, trust for Edey to be the one collecting these rejections. Especially with Jaren Jackson Jr. listed as doubtful to play. Over 1.5 blocks seems great value as a result.
AJ Green (MIL) over 2.5 made threes (-108)
Milwaukee Bucks guard AJ Green has remained red-hot from beyond the arc this season, making 47.4% of his attempts. Over the last 5 games, he has been even better, making at least 50% of his attempts in 4 contests. Considering that he is averaging 6.8 3-point range shots per game in November, he is managing it on great volume too. Tonight, he will be up against the Philadelphia 76ers, who have ranked 19th in opponent 3-point attempts per game this season. With only 4 of the last 50 shots that Green being inside the arc, look for the Bucks guard to be the one getting many of those attempts. The 76ers are leading the league in blocks per game and have a intimidating frontline of Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond. Do not be surprised to see the Bucks turn to their perimeter attack as a result. In recent form, Green might only need around 6 of those shots to hit the over.
