The NBA starts off the week with a huge 10-game slate on Monday with the both of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference in action. The Toronto Raptors will have a tough task of defending their 7-game win streak against a Cleveland Cavaliers team that has won 2 in a row themselves. While the Detroit Pistons should have an easier time extending their 12-win streak against the lowly Indiana Pacers.
You can find our NBA previews here. But first, take a look at my favorite player props for Monday below.
Kel’el Ware (MIA) over 1.5 blocks (+116)
Miami Heat forward Kel’el Ware has had a bit of a draught blocks wise over the last 3 games but tonight’s matchup against the Dallas mavericks offers him an opportunity to bounce back. The Mavericks are 21st in opponent blocks per game over the last 10 contests. They do also go at players in the paint, with no team facing more block attempts during that stretch of contests. Ware has the length and shot blocking instincts not to let these opportunities go to waste. Matchup wise it is favorable too as he will have a size advantage over P.J. Washington while undersized guard Brandon Williams has struggled from deep this month and should look to attack the paint. Back the over on Ware blocks as a result.
Zion Williamson (NO) over 24.5 points (-114)
Zion Williamson will be making a comeback tonight and the opponent could not be better suited for him. The Chicago Bulls have Nikola Vucevic protecting their paint. It is no surprise that they have ranked 28th in opponent points in the paint this season. Williamson ranks 4th in points in that category among players, scoring almost 15 points per game inside. The Bulls are also in the bottom 10 of the league this year in opponent free throw attempts per game. With Derrick Queen in the starting lineup, the Bulls will have issues matching up with the bulk of Williamson, so look for him to have success in drawing fouls too. With 5 games of double-digit free throw attempts from his 7 appearances so far, it should prove a reliable way for him to get his numbers tonight.
Alperen Sengun (HOU) over 16.5 rebounds and assists (-114)
This line on Alperen Sengun almost feels like a given at this point. The Rockets center has managed to hit a combined 17 rebounds and assists in 10 of his last 11 games. His last outing against the Denver Nuggets was the game he did not achieve it in, so look for him to be motivated to bounce back. Mark Williams will be his matchup tonight, a player who will not space the floor leaving Sengun to battle for boards in the paint. With him having a size advantage over the Turkish center, do not be surprised to see Sengun get in his passing bag more tonight too. Looking at his form in November where he is averaging 10.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game, he should be able to hit this over tonight.
