Ladies and gentlemen, get ready — the first NFL Sunday of the season is officially upon us! While we have Thursday Night Football and a Brazil matchup to whet our appetites, NFL is truly at its best in the midst of the Sunday afternoon chaos, and I can’t wait for it all to get started. As such, I’ve locked in 2 of my best NFL player prop bets to hopefully get us started right with a couple of winners. Let’s break them down, while you can also find out our expert NFL picks for EVERY GAME in Week 1.

Best NFL player prop bet: Jonathan Taylor over 78.5 rushing yards (-114)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Jonathan Taylor is a monster. He had 88+ yards in 10 of 14 games last year and we just need 79 against this Dolphins team. Miami allowed 4.5 yards per carry last year, and given Indianapolis’ documented issues at quarterback, we can expect Taylor to see a hefty chunk of action. JT is an elite back that should see plenty of handoffs. The Colts are slight favorites in this game and I can’t imagine that Daniel Jones is the reason why. It may not be until late in the game, but I’m expecting Taylor to start the season with a bang while he’s at his healthiest.

Best NFL player prop bet: Tyler Allgeier over 5.5 rush attempts (-120)

Odds available at BetMGM at time of publishing.

As we head into another NFL season, fans will wish the Falcons utilized Bijan Robinson more than they do. I just don’t see them getting their wish and Tyler Allgeier is that reason. Bijan is undeniably great and a top talent at his position, but Allgeier helps take the load off of the young star and is a vital piece to that offense. Allgeier had 6+ carries in 13 of 17 games last year. He was 2-0 against this number when facing Tampa in 2024, games of 12 and 6 handoffs. This game has a close spread, so I think running should be a part of the game plan throughout all 4 quarters.
