The Golden State Warriors do not have an easy schedule to begin their season. While they were able to overcome their first test and take down Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers, they should find it tougher against a revamped Denver Nuggets squad on Thursday night. The visitors have made a number of changes to their roster, including swapping out Michael Porter Jr. for a more efficient player in Cameron Johnson. Their season opener will give us a first glimpse into whether the move will pay off. You can also find out our expert NBA picks for tonight’s matchups along with every game this season, but for now, let’s break down each leg in my Nuggets vs Warriors Same Game Parlay.

Nikola Jokic (DEN) Over 10.5 rebounds (-130)
Matching up against Draymond Green down low should allow Nikola Jokic to be dominant on the boards. In the post he has a huge size advantage and should be able to establish fantastic rebounding position on both ends of the floor. With his direct matchup also being a career 32 percent 3-point shooter, Jokic should be free to take a step back into the paint and to focus on chasing down the misses. He averaged 11 rebounds per game against the Warriors last season and 12.7 boards per game overall. It was enough to have him ranked in the top 3 in rebounds per game. Expect him to get off to a fast start on Thursday.

Draymond Green (GSW) Over 8.5 points (-115)
Last season Green averaged 7.5 field-goal attempts, his highest mark since the 2017-18 campaign. The Warriors now have more scoring weapons in Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga. It encourages teams to leave Green open, as defenses much prefer allowing him putting up shots than the others. GSW will be keen to make Jokic work on the defensive end, too, and Green will have a role to play in that. He averaged 9 points against the Nuggets and should have similar output tonight. His opponents also finished last season in the top 10 of the league in pace, so there should be no shortage of possessions. Expect Green to be getting some of those looks.

Jimmy Butler (GSW) Over 1.5 steals (-110)
In his last game against the Nuggets, Butler managed 5 steals in what was a great defensive performance. There is no one on the roster who can straight up guard Jokic, which will make the Warriors send help his way. This is where Butler can thrive, using his defensive awareness to timely rush the Serbian big man and help force turnovers. Last season the visitors were also in the bottom 10 of the league in opponent steals per game. It makes this a favorable matchup for the Warriors’ forward, who averaged 1.4 steals per game last season. This will be a great chance for him to exceed that tonight.
