ThThe 2025 NHL Eastern Conference Finals have a familiar look. The Panthers and Hurricanes will face off in the Conference Finals for the 2nd time in 3 years, as Florida swept Carolina in 2023 to go to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Panthers would love nothing more than a repeat performance and to capture their 3rd consecutive Eastern Conference title. The Hurricanes have been swept in each of their last 3 trips to the Eastern Conference Finals but will be hopeful of getting over the hump. If you’re tuning into this Game 1 and want to have a vested interest, here are my Panthers vs Hurricanes Same Game Parlay picks at +495 odds, while you can also get our NHL picks for this matchup and every game throughout the postseason. We cashed our last SGP at +425 odds so let’s make it 2 in a row!

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 over Florida Panthers (+205)

The Panthers look to be back in full champion form after they just won 4 of their last 5 games in rather dominant fashion to eliminate the Maple Leafs. Could they repeat as Eastern Conference champions and go to their 3rd consecutive Stanley Cup Final in 3 years? Absolutely. But this Game 1 looks better for Carolina for a couple of reasons.

The primary tailwinds in the Hurricanes’ favor tonight are their rest and their home-ice advantage. Florida won their 2nd-round series less than 48 hours before the first puck is dropped in this Conference Final series. The Hurricanes, by contrast, have enjoyed a nice 4-day break since they eliminated the Capitals last Thursday. The rest, physical recovery and fresh legs could be a significant factor in Carolina’s favor, especially late in the game.

The Hurricanes have a real advantage on home ice this season. Between the regular season and playoffs, they are now 36-9-1 at home in 2024-25. That includes 5 consecutive wins at home entering tonight in this postseason. The Hurricanes have been fairly dominant in those 5 playoff home wins as their +13 goal differential in those games give an average win by 2.60 goals. Granted, the Panthers are a much different opponent than the Devils and Capitals. But there is a large enough sample size of the Hurricanes getting the job done at home against strong opponents for this puck line to have appeal.

Carolina is 28-18 against the spread at home this year, which includes 4-1 in the playoffs. This is a good team in good form that excels at home and is much more fresh than their opponents. It looks good for the Hurricanes tonight and this +205 gives nice value.

Seth Jarvis anytime goalscorer (+205)

Seth Jarvis has carried a very solid regular season into what has now been a productive postseason. Jarvis tallied 32 goals this season, which was his 2nd consecutive year of 30+ goals. His 35 assists gave him 67 points in 73 games played along with a nice +12 rating in an average of 19:21 of ice time per game. Seth Jarvis is a responsible, talented player who brings a balanced offensive attack that fits perfectly into the Hurricanes’ style of play. His regular-season numbers are evident of that, as are his playoff numbers. Through 10 games played this postseason, Jarvis has scored 4 goals and collected 10 points which are tied for the most on Carolina.

Due to his strong play, Jarvis has earned an important role on the Hurricanes’ top line and top power play. His 20:34 average ice time per game is the 2nd most among Hurricanes forwards as head coach Rod Brind’Amour continues to thrust Jarvis into high-leverage situations. He will get a tough matchup tonight, but his line is so good that the matchup could be in their favor. Carolina’s top line of Jarvis, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov have combined for 15 goals and 29 points in 30 games played these playoffs. They are a combined +12 and have 4 game-winning goals this postseason. In a game where the Hurricanes have home-ice advantage and will have more fresh legs than their opponent, taking one of their top producers to score at another +205 odds has appeal.
