As an inexperienced Thunder team battles a championship group in the Nuggets, they’ll look to their veteran and former NBA champion, Alex Caruso, to help lead them to their first Western Conference Finals since 2016. The tendency with elimination games is that team’s rotations shrink. The Thunder running a 10-man rotation isn’t the brightest idea in a game like this — so I expect Caruso to get extra run in Game 7, while also being in the closing lineup in a tight game.
After eclipsing this line in Games 4 & 5, Caruso fell short in Game 5; he failed to reel in any rebounds, but dished out four assists on six opportunities. He continues to get open looks from 3-point range — making the Nuggets pay, as he has knocked down 2+ 3-pointers in the last 4 games of this series. Expect harder closeouts from the Nuggets and Caruso to be a real threat on offense, while also being a force crashing the glass.
