The Minnesota Timberwolves are back at home tonight for Game 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but their back backs are up against the wall. Having lost the opening 2 games of the series, they know they cannot afford to drop another game. Those 2 games were not very competitive, and it looks like the home team will have a mountain to climb. The Timberwolves had a strong 25-16 record at home this regular season and should be able give us a great game tonight live on ABC.
You can find our NBA previews. But for now check out my favorite player props for Thunder vs Timberwolves below.
Naz Reid Over 1.5 made threes (-145)
Naz Reiz really struggled to shoot from beyond the arc in the opening 2 games, missing all 12 of his 3-point attempts. This is someone who shot at a 50% clip from deep in the opening series against the Los Angeles Lakers and at a 43.5% in the previous round against the Golden State Warriors. I do not imagine that the recent misses will discourage him from pulling the trigger in Game 3. After all, shooters shoot. Reid prefers doing that in front of his home fans, too. His 3-point percentage jumped by 3% when playing in Minnesota this season. With Rudy Gobert hardly being effective on the floor, Reid should continue to get his chances tonight. I’m backing him to get out of his shooting slump.
Julius Randle Over 1.5 made threes (-115)
Julius Randle came out firing in Game 1 of the series, making 5 of his 6 3-point attempts. And while he failed to connect from downtown in Game 2, look for him to get back to getting his 3-point shots off on Saturday. Randle is currently averaging 6 fewer field-goal attempts than he did in the previous round against the Warriors. The Timberwolves will need him to step up if they have a chance in Game 3. With Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein clogging the paint, the Timberwolves’ forward is likely to have the most success early by stepping back behind the arc. During this postseason he has upped his 3-point percentage to 37.5% per game. Before Game 2 he had attempted at least 6 shots from deep in 3 straight contests; getting back to that here should allow this over to hit.
