The reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics are officially on the brink, now down 3-1 to the Knicks and without superstar Jayson Tatum for the remainder of the season. The situation is similar for the Warriors, also in a 3-1 hole to the Timberwolves and desperate to stay alive to give Steph Curry a shot at coming back. With a couple of high-stakes matchups on tap, I’ve picked out my best NBA player prop bet from Knicks vs Celtics, targeting Payton Pritchard, so let’s dive in! I’m 10-2 on NBA player props for Pickswise this season, so let’s keep that run going. You can also find out our NBA picks on the side and total for both Knicks vs Celtics and Warriors vs Timberwolves.

Best NBA Player Prop Bet: Payton Pritchard (BOS) over 2.5 first-quarter points (-150)

Odds available at Fanatics Sportsbook at time of publishing.

I’m perfectly happy going back to this bet. Payton Pritchard has hit this player prop in every game of this series so far and should see a usage bump with the recent injury news regarding Tatum. This season we have seen Pritchard hit this prop in 15 of 18 games without Tatum. Pritchard shoots 68% of his field-goal attempts from three-point land, meaning that this pick can very easily cash with just one made shot.

I expect Pritchard to enter this game sooner than he did in Game 4 and he could very easily see himself play 6+ minutes in the opening quarter. This game is at home, where Pritchard has better splits as well. The juice doesn’t bother me here as this is still a bet that has an 83% hit rate when Tatum doesn’t play, and I like our chances of improving my NBA player prop record on the season to 11-2.
