This should have been an NBA season opener which saw 2 all-time greats in Stephen Curry and LeBron James face off. With the latter being injured, that will not sadly happen. However, there should be no shortage of star power on the floor, with Luka Doncic and Jimmy Butler being ready to go. Luka Doncic (LAL) over 8.5 rebounds (+110)
With LeBron James missing the start of the regular season, early emphasis will be on Luka Doncic to carry the workload for the Lakers. One of the main ways he should be able to contribute is through his rebounding. The Warriors finished last season 2nd in three-point attempts per game. With their main off-season acquisition being a floor-spacing center in Al Horford, that volume should remain high. This should lead to long rebounds galore for Doncic to chase down. Last season in 3 games against the Warriors he averaged 9 rebounds per game. Not having to compete with LeBron James for misses should allow him to open the season hot in this department.

Deandre Ayton (LAL) over 13.5 points (-115)
The Lakers lacked an inside scoring threat from the center position last season but have been able to fix that with the acquisition of Deandre Ayton. Their new addition has not averaged fewer that 14 points per game in any season of his career. With James being out, he should be one of the main scoring threats for the hosts. Going up against an undersized center in Al Horford should help matters, as well as having a playmaker like Doncic feeding him the ball. In regular-season games through his career, Ayton has averaged 17.4 points against the Warriors. With a pick-and-roll wizard in Doncic dishing him the rock, do not expect a drop off from that here.
Jonathan Kuminga (GS) over 13.5 points (-115)
This could be the start of a breakout year for Jonathan Kuminga. He signed a 2-year contact extension this season that is designed to be opted out this season and renegotiated, with the view of him being the cornerstone of the franchise. With Curry and Butler getting up there in years, look for Kuminga to carry a bigger workload in the regular season.
While he is not an efficient shooter from deep, he is very capable of attacking the rim and finishing in the paint. The Lakers have a few weaker perimeter defenders in Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic that the Warriors forward could target. And with Ayton not being known as a rim protector, Kuminga should get off to a hot start to the season. Last year he averaged 16 points a game against them, and should be exceeding that with what is likely to be a bigger role this season.
