So far we have been deprived of what would have been a fantastic series due to the injury to Stephen Curry. Now the Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves in a comfortable 3-1 lead and will be keen to put the series away tonight. The longer the series drags on, the more of a chance that Curry makes a comeback.
You can find our NBA Playoff previews here. But for now check out my Warriors/Timberwolves Same Game Parlay below.
Jonathan Kuminga over 18.5 points (+100)
Brandin Podziemski under 1.5 made threes (20/23)
Rudy Gobert over 2.5 steals & blocks (29/20)
Warriors vs Timberwolves Same Game Parlay odds: +750
Jonathan Kuminga over 18.5 points (+100)
In the absence of Curry everyone expected Jimmy Butler to pick up the offensive workload, but in fact it has been Jonathan Kuminga leading the way. He is currently averaging 19.5 points per game in this series, despite limited minutes and usage in Game 1 of the series. He has been incredibly efficient too, making 57.4% of his field goal attempts and 50% of his 3-point shots. Do not be surprised to see that earn him more shots in Game 5.
In his last outing Kuminga had great success getting to the free throw line, having 12 attempts in Game 4. He is an explosive athlete so should continue getting past his man and attacking the rim. With the Timberwolves zoning in on Butler, Kuminga should continue to have space to flurish especially in one-on-one matchups where he excels. It should lead to another great scoring night for the forward.
Brandin Podziemski under 1.5 made threes (-115)
Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski has really struggled finding his shooting touch this series. Over the last 4 games he is making just 17.6% of his attempts beyond the arc. To Paderewski’s credit, he is not forcing himself to shoot his way out of the slump. In each of the last 3 games he has attempted just 4 3-point shots. With a lack of confidence dur to his recent inefficiency, do not be surprised to see him pass up shots here.
Over his last 5 postseason games overall, the guard has made just 4 of his 24 3-point attempts. The Timberwolves will not be the easiest opponent to change his fortunes against. The hosts finished the regular season 6th in opponent 3-point percentage and should continue causing him issues tonight.
Rudy Gobert over 2.5 steals & blocks (+145)
Rudy Gobert has been able to hit the over on this line in 2 of the 4 games so far. He did this with blocks alone, recording 3 in Game 1 and 4 in Game 3. With the Warriors missing Curry, it takes away from their floor spacing capabilities, forcing them to try and get more shots inside the arc. That puts them within reach of Gobert, who is more than capable of challenging and swatting shots away.
Though the first 4 games of the series Gobert is yet to record a steal, but he seems due in this category. He has averaged 0.8 steals per game against the Warriors in the regular season and a steal per game in the opening round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers. Breaking his draught here should set him up perfectly to hit the over once more.
