Money Line 3-Way Pick
LA Kings(-115)

The Los Angeles Kings will host the Calgary Flames for the nightcap on Saturday. The Kings, who were the best home team in the NHL last season, haven’t been great at home this year. They are just 4-6-3 on home ice. The Flames might be just what they need as they are 5-11-2 on the road this season. Los Angeles is the third-best defensive team in hockey, averaging only 2.50 goals against per game. I expect the Kings will have no issues shutting down this Flames team that struggles to score. The Flames are tied for the worst offense in the NHL, averaging only 2.50 goals per game.

Calgary does not have much depth offensively. Outside of a few players, it does not pose much of a threat to score. This is shown by the Flames’ league-worst offense. The tight defensive, hard forechecking style of game that the Kings play is going to wear down the defense of the Flames. I think the Kings will dominate this game on home ice and get it done in regulation time. Give me Los Angeles on the 3-way money line.

Puck Line Pick
DET Red Wings -1.5(+130)

The Detroit Red Wings will be visiting the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday evening. The Blackhawks will be without the main driver of their offense, Connor Bedard, after he suffered an injury late in their game against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night. Without Bedard, the Blackhawks go from a playoff bubble team, to a draft lottery team. Everything this team was going to accomplish ran through him. I expect this to have a significant impact on their offensive output.

The Red Wings come into this game just 4-4-2 in their last 10 games, but going up against the Blackhawks without Bedard with be a perfect opportunity to get things back on track. They have a very deep forward group, that is headlined by two sets of duos that have elite chemistry. Dylan Larkin is flanked by Lucas Raymond, while Patrick Kane and Alex Debrincat have chemistry dating back to their days in Chicago. These two lines can produce offense at a rate that the Blackhawks won’t be able to keep pace with. Give me the Red Wings on the puck line in this one.

Red Wings vs Blackhawks prediction: Detroit -1.5 (+130) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
