The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals wrap up a series on Wednesday afternoon after splitting the first two games. The Giants head back to the west coast after this game, where they will remain for the rest of the season. They somehow managed to plate 10 runs on Tuesday to get the win, but with the lineup they are trotting out these days, I have no idea how they would repeat such a feat. There is no part of me that is willing to believe in the Giants right now, and while there is not a lot of value on the Cardinals’ Money Line, this is one of those “if you see a $20 bill laying on the sidewalk, would you pick it up” situations. Give me the Cardinals to win.
The Giants are missing at least the entire top half of their lineup to the IL right now. Willy Adames, Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, and Casey Schmitt, among others, are all down right now. The casual baseball fan would be lying if they told you they knew even one name in the probable lineup. I just can’t get behind that. On the mound, the Giants will go with Anthony Molina. He gave up 7 runs in his last outing. It’s not like Matthew Liberatore is a stud or anything, but there is just nothing going for the Giants that I can get behind. Give me the Cardinals to win the series finale.
