It seems that people overlooked the Los Angles Chargers to start the season but it was a successful season although they once again fell short of reaching a Super Bowl. They ran into the New England Patriots on the road and that is a death wish for most teams. As successful of a season as it was the question for most bettors is did the Chargers make you any money because in teams of betting that’s all that seems to matter. Let’s breakdown how the Los Angeles Chargers Betting Recap for the season.

Chargers Against The Spread

The Los Angeles Chargers had some odd trends this season in terms of covering the spreads. On the season they were 9-7 against the spread so if you bet them every game, there is no doubt you made money. At home they really struggled against the spread going only 2-6 which is interesting because although they were at home, a lot of times the visiting fans actually outnumbered Chargers fans.

On the road though is where the Chargers had a ton of success against the spread. On the season they were 7-1 against the spread. This really isn’t a ton of surprise because playing at home sometimes felt like an away game, so playing away from home wouldn’t be much different. which gave them an advantage of trying to cover the spread. On grass the Chargers were 7-7 against the spread and on turf, they were 2-0.

Chargers Over Under

On the over/under last season for the Chargers it was hard to make any money betting either way. The Over was the play eight times and the under was the play eight times. At home this last season the over was the play three times and the under was the play five times. Away from home the over was the play five times and the under was the play three times.

On grass the over was the play seven times and the under was the play seven times. On turf the over was the play one time and the under was the play one time.

Chargers Futures

With as nice as of season as the 2018-19 season was, the expectations remain just as high for next year. The Chargers currently sit at 20/1 odds to win the Super Bowl next year which is 7th best in the league. At 20/1 odds I really think is a team you should consider taking to win it all. The Chargers also have the 4th best odds to win the AFC championship behind the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and the Indianapolis Colts.

Chargers 2019-2020 Outlook

It really shouldn’t be surprising that the expectations are high for the Chargers next season because they have a loaded team but the pressure is on for this team to start to have success with Phillip Rivers getting older and older.

The one thing that really isn’t talked about is the Chargers defense but it’s the big strength of the team and it is something that is going to need to carry them next season.
