The Thanksgiving slate in fantasy football is one of everyone’s favorite slates of the season. This article will look at the top 5 players to use for the contests and we will also look at the top quarterback, top running back, top wide receiver, top tight end and top flex for the slate. Let’s start with the quarterback position.

Quarterback: Drew Brees, Saints

The Atlanta vs New Orleans game is the highest total on the slate at 59.5 points. The Saints are at home and are averaging the 6th most passing yards per game at 295.7. The Falcons are giving up the 4th most passing yards per game with 294.1 yards per game. Drew Brees is almost as a lock for over 300 yards passing and multiple touchdowns in this one as they are projected to score over 35 points in this one.

Running Back: Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are playing at home and are favored by 7.5 points against the Washington Redskins which means they should be playing from ahead for the majority of this one. The Cowboys offense runs through Ezekiel Elliott and the running game. The offensive line is also looking improved in the run blocking scheme. I look for Elliott to have well over 100 total yards of offense and could see him getting multiple touchdowns.

Wide Receiver: Tre’Quan Smith, Saints

I’m going to pay down at receiver on this slate especially with getting Brees and Elliott in the lineup and Smith is my choice to do so. Smith is coming off a strong game against the Eagles with 10 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown. I also like the combo of Brees and Smith in this game with what is projected to be the highest scoring team on the slate. Smith gives us the option to add top players at the other positions.

Tight End: Austin Hooper, Falcons

The tight ends on this slate leave a lot to be desired to say the least, but Hooper is involved in the passing game of the Falcons and the Falcons should be playing from behind for the majority of this game being 13 point underdogs and are projected to score the third most points on the slate. The Falcons are averaging the 2nd most passing yards per game with 314.5 yards per game and the Saints are giving up the 6th most passing yards per game with 280.3 per game. I look for Hooper to be the highest scoring tight end on the slate.

Flex: Alvin Kamara, Saints

Like Ezekiel Elliott, Alvin Kamara is involved in the passing and running game for his team. The Saints are projected to score the most points on the slate at over 35 points. Atlanta is giving up the most points to pass catching running backs. Atlanta is giving up the 12th most rushing yards per game with 121.3 and are giving up the 4th most passing yards as previously stated.  I look for Alvin Kamara to be heavily involved in the offense in this game and should have well over 100 total yards combined at multiple touchdowns.
