For my money, Alabama’s trip to Georgia is the biggest game of the loaded Week 5 college football slate, but I wouldn’t blame you if you argued Oregon vs Penn State is the headline game of the day. What’s not up for debate is the impact this game has on the race in the SEC. Was Alabama’s Week 1 loss at Florida State a fluke? Is Georgia’s defense as bad as it looked against Tennessee? We will find out on Saturday night.

Ahead of this massive SEC matchup, I’ve put together an Alabama vs Georgia Same Game Parlay consisting of my favorite bets from the spread all the way to player props. Let’s analyze each leg, and don’t forget about our NCAAF predictions for every big game on the monstrous Week 5 card.

Alabama +3 (-110)

Alabama Crimson Tide +3 vs Georgia Bulldogs (-110)

I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but Georgia has rattled off 33 consecutive home wins – a feat which dates all the way back to 2019. On the surface, a 3-point spread feels light for a team this good on its home turf, especially against an Alabama team that has not looked the part away from Tuscaloosa of late. However, I’m going against the obvious trends here, as I don’t believe the Tide are as bad as they showed in Week 1.

I came away from Georgia’s Week 3 win over Tennessee with more questions than answers in regards to the Bulldogs defensively. They currently sit outside the top 75 in yards per play allowed, and they haven’t been particularly good on standard downs or against the pass. Now that Ty Simpson has had time to get settled and gain confidence as a starting quarterback, I expect him to be able to find his talented group of wide receivers with more efficiency than the game in Tallahassee.

The Tide will get running back Jam Miller and defensive lineman Tim Keenan III back for this game, which is huge for them. At the very least, Miller adds more depth to what seems to be an average running back room, while Keenan dramatically improves Alabama’s run defense – which is critical against UGA’s running back room spearheaded by Nate Frazier. I have this game power-rated around 1.5 points, so I still see some value at +3. Give me the Tide to play spoiler between the hedges on Saturday.

Alabama vs Georgia over 53 (-110)

This has been an extremely high-scoring matchup of late, which is surprising given how strong these programs have been defensively over the last decade. I like the high-scoring trend to continue this year, as both teams seem to be a bit vulnerable in the secondary – paving the way for chunk plays.

With mutual deficiencies on the back side of these defenses, look for the offenses to control the game. Alabama is top 15 in yards per play and PPA per play, while Georgia is top 40 in both of those metrics. Furthermore, the Tide and the Bulldogs are both very good at finishing drives with touchdowns rather than field goals given the fact that both teams average more than 5.25 points per trip inside the opposing 40-yard line. This should lead to plenty of scoring here, as both defenses rank outside the top 90 in points per opportunity allowed.

Sure, these teams have done a very good job at preventing quality drives to this point, but consider the competition level of most of those opponents. The walls of the dam will break in Athens; expect points.

Ryan Williams (ALA) anytime touchdown (+162)

Ryan Williams sustained a concussion in Week 1 and subsequently missed Alabama’s game in Week 2. However, he came back with a vengeance in Week 3, tallying 5 receptions for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. Expect for him to ride that momentum into this week.

Great players typically step up in big moments, and Williams has already done that against Georgia once – last year when he was a true freshman. Look for him to find the end zone again against a Georgia defense that just allowed Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell II and Braylon Staley to combine for 15 receptions, 274 yards, and 4 touchdowns in Week 3.
