After a long and eventful season, the College Football Playoff is finally here. To kick off the proceedings, the Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Oklahoma Sooners in a rematch of a game we saw just one month ago. Neither of these teams has looked all that impressive in recent weeks, but both have found themselves in the postseason, so there is certainly a case to be made for either side to emerge victorious on Friday.
With kickoff set for 8:00 PM ET in Norman, Oklahoma, a Same Game Parlay is in order. Let’s get into our Alabama vs Oklahoma picks, but don’t forget our NCAAF predictions for every College Football Playoff matchup.

Alabama ML (-104)
To kick off our SGP, our expert is backing the Crimson Tide on the money line. Kalen DeBoer’s team has not looked the part of a top-10 team over the last 6 weeks, but this is still a veteran unit that has the capability to be a lot more explosive than their counterparts on the other side. While the Crimson Tide did lose to Oklahoma in the previous meeting a month ago, they ultimately outgained the Sooners by a 406-212 margin, but finished with three turnovers and had a field goal blocked in the loss. DeBoer’s group should have won that first meeting, and they should bounce back on Friday against an Oklahoma offense that hasn’t looked right all season long. Home field certainly matters in a game like this, but we’re backing the visitors on Friday.

Under 41.5 (-115)
Our expert is expecting a lower-scoring affair in this contest, as both teams are anchored by their stout defenses. Both the Crimson Tide and Sooners sit inside the top 30 in success rate and points per quality possession allowed on defense, and it’s also worth mentioning that neither offense has been all that effective in recent weeks heading into this one. Oklahoma’s offense has been an issue in particular, as the Sooners are sitting at 93rd in success rate and 96th in points per drive on the season (CFB-Graphs), and the numbers only get worse when looking at the results from the last two months.
The first meeting between these teams can be instructive for what we might see on Friday. In fact, when these teams met in Tuscaloosa a month ago, only 44 points were scored, and 17 of those points came off turnovers. The game probably should’ve played in the 30s, and that’s what our expert is forecasting on Friday. Ultimately, Oklahoma is 10-2 to the Under on the season, while Alabama is 9-4, and we expect both of these trends will continue in a game of this magnitude.
Germie Bernard (ALA) over 56.5 receiving yards (-114)
To close out our SGP for Friday’s game, let’s target Germie Bernard to clear his receiving yards prop. Our expert is bullish on Bernard’s ability to produce in this spot, and for good reason, as this is a line that the Crimson Tide wide receiver has cleared in eight games this season. The veteran wideout should see plenty of action in the passing game, particularly if Alabama gets in a negative game state against this elite Oklahoma defensive front. From what we’ve seen in the biggest games this season, Bernard has been a major security blanket for Ty Simpson, which points us in the direction of his receiving yards over on Friday.
