We have an intriguing schedule on our hands, headlined by a massive series in New York with Dodgers vs Mets. Other series of interest include Diamondbacks vs Cardinals, Padres vs Braves and Mariners vs Astros. There are more than enough betting opportunities, so let’s try to take advantage. MLB parlay pick: Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over Athletics (-118)
To start off our parlay, I’ll take the Phillies on the run line against the Athletics. Philadelphia has rattled off 7 consecutive victories and is currently playing some of the best baseball of its season thus far. The Phillies have also been very comfortable away from the friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park this season, posting 6 consecutive victories on the road. The same can’t be said for the Athletics, who have now dropped 9 straight games following a sweep at the hands of the Angels. Things won’t get any easier for the Athletics offense against Phillies starter Zack Wheeler, who is 5-1 with a 2.67 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through 10 starts. Given that the Athletics have surrendered 9 or more runs in 5 of their last 9 games, it shouldn’t take much for Wheeler to hold a lead after his outing. As long as the Philadelphia bullpen does its part, this first leg should be fairly straightforward.

MLB parlay pick: Arizona Diamondbacks ML over St. Louis Cardinals (-130)
For the second leg of our parlay, we’re off to St. Louis for a matchup between the Diamondbacks and Cardinals. The Redbirds have certainly outperformed expectations this season, especially over the last month or so. However, we’re going to target the visiting Diamondbacks to come out on top in Friday’s series opener. Fading St. Louis starter Miles Mikolas has been a winning strategy in recent years, and even though the veteran right-hander has decent numbers on paper, his expected metrics (4.45 xERA, bottom 5 percentile in whiff rate and strikeout percentage) suggest that he is due for some regression. Arizona’s lineup is a top-5 unit in the sport, and the Diamondbacks are at their best against right-handed pitchers. Let’s bank on their offense to lead the way to a victory in this one.

MLB parlay pick: Los Angeles Angels team total over 4.5 (+110)
To close out our parlay, let’s back the Angels to exceed their team total against the Marlins. It wasn’t long ago that Miami starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara was one of the most dominant arms in baseball. However, this season has not gone to plan for the Marlins’ ace following his return from Tommy John surgery, as he’s posted a 7.99 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through his first 9 outings. Furthermore, Alcantara has surrendered 33 runs on 39 hits along with 20 walks over his last 32.0 innings pitched. Given that Alcantara has allowed 3 or more runs in each of his last 7 starts and I don’t have much confidence in the Miami bullpen to hold down this surging Angels offense, let’s take Los Angeles to score at least 5 runs on Friday.
